The Grant County Sheriff's Office is at 214 E. 4th St. in Marion. The office runs a 250-bed jail where all Grant County bookings take place. Each Grant County booking report has the person's name, date of birth, charges, arrest date and time, bond amount, and arresting agency. These records are kept on file and are public under Indiana law.

Grant County Booking Reports on INjail
Grant County is one of six Indiana counties that use the INjail public portal for online inmate searches. This multi-county tool lets you search by last name, first name, birth date, or by selecting Grant County from the dropdown list. Public Records Law and Grant County Bookings
Indiana's Access to Public Records Act (IC 5-14-3) makes Grant County booking reports public. Under IC 5-14-3-5, the sheriff must share certain data for every person booked into the jail. This includes the person's name, age, address, charges, arrest time and place, arresting officer and agency, and bond amount. The law does not let the sheriff deny your request just because you refuse to say why you want the records.
IC 5-14-3-5 also requires a daily log of suspected crimes, accidents, and complaints. This log must be created within 24 hours and made available to the public. For Grant County, this is a running record of all arrests, incidents, and bookings that anyone can see.
The response time under IC 5-14-3-9 is seven days for written requests. Copy fees under IC 5-14-3-8 are capped at $0.10 per page for non-color copies and $0.25 for color. Certified copies cost no more than $5 each. These fees apply to all Grant County booking report copies.
